BCN SIM-BASED ECPR MEGACODE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- ECPR scenario divided in two modules of 90 min:
2) Extracorporeal support management using last generation ECMO simulator.
- Instructors: 3 ECPR & SIM experts from highly experienced ECMO training group.
- Ratio expert/attendee of 3/10.
- Structured debriefing-focused simulation following ELSO standards.
COMPETENCIES BEING TRAINED
CANNULATION MODULE (11h-12h30):
1. Indicate ECPR and EISOR.
2. Select adequate cannulation configuration.
3. Cannulate.
4. Initiate extracorporeal support.
5. ECPR team organization and coordination.
MANAGEMENT (13h-14h30):
1. Stabilization, identify and treat the cause of cardiac arrest.
2. Manage ECPR case, considering particularities.
3. Prevent, diagnose, and solve specific complications.
4. Wean vs withdraw vs change to EISOR.
